Namo Gangay riverside camp with tents on a Ganga beach at dusk

About us

A Rishikesh outfit, run by river people

We started with two rafts, a borrowed truck and a very long list of things we would never cut corners on.

Our story

Built on the water, not in an office

Namo Gangay grew out of a group of guides who had already spent years rowing other people's rafts on the Ganga. We knew the good operators and the careless ones, and we wanted to run the kind of trip we would put our own families on.

Today we operate five rafting stretches between Kaudiyala and Rishikesh, plus a limited number of 70 km expeditions from Devprayag. Our base sits a short walk from the river in Tapovan, with changing rooms, gear stores and a courtyard where every trip starts with the same unhurried safety briefing.

We are small on purpose. Nobody here is trying to push four hundred people down the river on a Sunday. We would rather run fewer rafts, know every guest's name at the briefing, and have the whole team back at base before dark.

How we work

Four things we don't negotiate

The river decides

If the water, weather or an official closure says no, we cancel and refund. No pressure, no exceptions.

Local first

Our guides, drivers and camp crew are from these valleys. Your money stays in the hills.

Gear you can trust

Jackets and helmets are replaced on a schedule, not when they fail. Every raft carries rescue kit.

Leave the beach clean

Everything we carry in comes out with us — including what the last group left.
